How we handle washing machine repair

Most washing-machine calls come down to drainage, drum bearings, the door lock, the drive belt or motor, or the control board. A technician runs a short diagnostic cycle, checks the pump and filter, inspects the drum and suspension, and reads any error code the machine reports.

Once the cause is clear we give you a written quote. If a part is needed we tell you whether a genuine manufacturer part is available or an approved compatible part is the sensible option, with the price and the warranty for each before anything is fitted.

Washer-dryers are handled as one job: we check both the wash side and the dry side so you are not paying for two separate visits.

Common symptoms and what usually causes them

A guide to what we look for. The actual cause is confirmed by an on-site diagnosis before any quote.

Not spinning or spinning weakly

Drainage blockage, worn drive belt, motor or carbon brushes, door-lock fault, or an unbalanced load the machine refuses to spin.

Not draining / water left in the drum

Blocked pump filter, kinked or clogged drain hose, failed drain pump, or a blocked house drain point.

Leaking water

Split door seal, loose or perished hose connections, cracked detergent drawer housing, or a failed pump seal.

Loud banging or grinding on spin

Worn drum bearings, failed shock absorbers or suspension springs, or a foreign object (coin, wire) caught between drum and tub.

Door will not open

Water still in the drum, failed door interlock, or a jammed handle mechanism.

Stops mid-cycle or shows an error code

Heater or temperature sensor fault, water not filling or draining within the expected time, or a control-board issue.

Not taking detergent / poor wash results

Blocked dispenser, low water pressure at the inlet valve, or a scaled-up heater in hard-water areas.

Good to know before the visit

  • Please clear access to the machine and the drain point before the visit. Under-counter machines take a few minutes longer to pull out safely.
  • If the machine shows an error code, note it down or photograph it. It narrows the diagnosis and can shorten the visit.
  • Abu Dhabi water is hard. If your machine has never been descaled, scale on the heater is a common cause of long cycles and poor heating. We will tell you if that is what we find.
  • Bearing replacement on some front-loaders is a large job because the drum is sealed. If that is the fault we will be honest about whether the repair makes sense against the age and value of the machine.

Questions we are asked about washing machine repair

My washing machine is not spinning. Can it be fixed same day?

Often yes, if the cause is drainage, the belt or the door lock and the part is a common one. Bearing or control-board work usually needs a return visit once the part is confirmed. The technician will tell you which case you are in after the on-site check.

Do you repair washer-dryer combo units?

Yes. We diagnose and repair both the washing and the drying functions in the same visit.

Is it worth repairing an old washing machine?

It depends on the fault and the age. A pump, belt, seal or heater is usually worth fixing. A drum bearing failure on a machine that is already 8–10 years old often is not, and we will say so rather than sell you the repair. See our guide on repairing versus replacing an appliance.

How much does washing machine repair cost?

The cost depends on the fault and any parts needed, so it is confirmed after the on-site diagnosis. You get a clear quote before work begins and can decide then whether to go ahead.
